WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

OPENING PRAYER
Holy God, whose covenants we ignore at our peril and whose ways we dare not forsake lest we be consumed by out own folly, grant us courage to serve you well, to live always in the knowledge of your presence with us, and to share the story of faith with each new generation, that your realm may be realized among us and your love celebrated in all our relationships. Amen

*HYMN Come Sing O Church in Joy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA3b9G6j8zQ

During this time that we cannot sing, you are invited to focus on
the meaning of the lyrics, perhaps finding a new depth to favorite hymns.

CALL TO CONFESSION
How seriously do we regard the decrees of our spiritual ancestors? The psalmist commands the teaching of God’s law to our children, that we and they might not forget all that God has done. Obedience to the way of life God sets before us makes hope real. Let us confess our need for help.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
If sin means cutting ourselves off from you and being unprepared to respond to your presence, surely, we have sinned. Our lamps are not trimmed; our lives are not ready for your trumpet call. We have not listened well or encouraged one another in the faith. We have not listened well or encouraged one another in the faith. The distraction of many things has kept us from meditation and prayer. We are witnesses against ourselves, for we have vowed our loyalty and then have gone our own way. Merciful God, we seek your forgiveness. Amen

SILENT PRAYER

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
It takes courage to question the way things are, especially when present arrangements are to our benefit. God is even now nudging us gently, caring tenderly for us amid our confusion and inner turmoil. The favor of God is upon us, entrusting us with the gospel for our own lives and for the world. Receive God’s forgiveness and blessing as good news!

*SHARING OF THE PEACE
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. (Please share with one another a gesture, offering peace from your seat.)

GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to God, creator, redeemer and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.  Amen.

HEARING THE WORD

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION
May the words of my mouth and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O God, our rock and our redeemer.  Amen.

OFFERING OF OUR GIFTS AND OURSELVES
We set our hope in you, God of all ages, and seek to serve you through our offering and our efforts to encourage and equip one another for ministry. Help us decide daily to live according to your will, preparing ourselves for the opportunities and challenges you give us. May your rule shape our lives in ways that introduce many to the joys of eternity in the midst of time. Amen

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
If you would like to share your joys and concerns with the congregation, please call or email the church office.
Holy God, hear us as we pray for your blessing.
Holy God, have mercy on us.

Especially we thank you for the mission and ministry of the church;
every service that proclaims your love…
the people and relationships that sustain us…
 our calling to daily discipleship…
signs of new life and hope…
all who care for creation; and work for justice and peace for all people…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of thanks.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.
all who serve your mission in the world…
 leaders, to lead with compassion…
all who grieve and lament loss of justice, freedom and life…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of intercession.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.
All this we ask of you, Lord God, through Jesus Christ our Savior,
and in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
