At Home:  There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcgwTbi4ka4

Welcome to worship today.
To minimize any potential risk of infection with COVID-19, please wear your mask, properly covering your mouth and nose, for the entire time you are in the church building.  We will not be singing or reciting prayers, as recommended by the CDC, to reduce the risk of droplets being spread.
Expect a quieter, shorter, more reflective service than usual.
Please sanitize your hands frequently and maintain social distance from anyone outside your household.
When it comes time to share a sign of peace, please share a wave, a bow or another gesture from your seat.
Please remain in your seat until it is time to exit the building.
Please follow all instructions during and after the worship service to ensure that all of us are safe.

Meet us here, Holy God, to search our hearts and strengthen our spirits. Plant your Word among us that it may spring up in nurturing, inviting ways for the sake of all your creatures. May we find in these moments of worship the assurance we need to live triumphantly in the face of loss, discouragement, and suffering. Lead us, by the teaching and example of Jesus Christ, to trust you and your will for us. We believe that whatever happens, you can bring some good from it. Show us, O God, the good you intend. Amen

*HYMN #384 O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nt69WDtYNLo

During this time that we cannot sing, you are invited to focus on
the meaning of the lyrics, perhaps finding a new depth to favorite hymns.

We who profess our faith are challenged to honest about our doubts. Our concern for others is tainted by self-interest. Our great plans are compromised by little deceits. God judges as well as upholds. Surely all of us need to seek forgiveness.

You know us, God, better than we know ourselves. You are aware of how often our deeds fail to match the faith we claim. Help us to face ourselves with honesty. Give us the will and courage to change our ways. We give thanks for Christs intercession for us. We rejoice as the Spirit gives voice to all we cannot express. Save us, O God, that your kingdom might be portrayed through our voice and actions.

Praise be to our God, who forgives and restores. Give thanks for the inheritance that is ours through Christ Jesus. We have received a pearl of great value, a treasure undeserved, a pardon unmerited. Nothing can separate us from God! Nothing in all creation can take away God’s abiding concern and care for each one of us. Praise God!

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you.
(Please share with one another a gesture, offering peace from your seat.)

Glory be to God, creator, redeemer and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.  Amen.

God of compassion, you have opened the way for us and brought us to yourself.
Pour your love into our hearts, that, overflowing with joy,
we may freely share the blessings of your realm
and faithfully proclaim the good news of Christ. Amen.

SERMON                                 The World has Changed, Gods Love Hasn’t

HYMN GtG #823 Shall Tribulation or Distress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eB3MPLPO_3U

If you would like to share your joys and concerns with the congregation, please call or email the church office.
Holy God, hear us as we pray for your blessing.
Holy God, have mercy on us.

Especially we thank you for the mission and ministry of the church;
every service that proclaims your love…
the people and relationships that sustain us…
 our calling to daily discipleship…
signs of new life and hope…
all who care for creation; and work for justice and peace for all people…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of thanks.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.

Merciful God, renew this weary world, heal the hurts of all your children,
and bring about your peace for all in Christ Jesus, the living Lord.
Especially we pray for
the church of Jesus Christ in every land…
the stewardship and healing of creation…
 friends and family members…
 neighbors in special need…
all who serve your mission in the world…
 leaders, to lead with compassion…
all who grieve and lament loss of justice, freedom and life…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of intercession.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.
All this we ask of you, Lord God, through Jesus Christ our Savior,
and in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

The gift of your realm is precious to us, O God. It is worth our greatest efforts and our caring sacrifice. As we search for the best in life, we also want to share our faith discoveries with friends and neighbors. We do that personally as well as supporting the church in its mission. May our outreach proclaim to all that nothing can separate us from your love. We give thanks that you have entrusted to us all that we are privileged to share. Amen

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Christ, all people here below.
Praise Holy Spirit evermore,
Praise Triune God, whom we adore.  Amen.

*HYMN #366 Jesus Thy Boundless Love To Me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XBExrjXK1U

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
 the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit
 be with you all.
Go therefore, and make disciples.
Go, in peace, to love and serve the Lord.
