At Home:    We Give Thee but Thine Own:

God of the covenant, even when we fall into sin, your Spirit invites us to remember
that you chose us to be your servant people.
Awaken us to the power and gifts you pour into us for the good of creation,
and grant that we may be trustworthy in all things, producing abundantly for your realm. Amen.

*HYMN GtG 798 All With Joyful Exultation

During this time that we cannot sing, you are invited to focus on
the meaning of the lyrics, perhaps finding a new depth to favorite hymns.

CALL TO CONFESSION                                      Philippians 3:7-8
Whatever honor we possess is nothing compared to the value of knowing
Christ our Lord.
Trusting in God’s grace, let us confess our sin.

God our redeemer,
we confess that we remain captivated by sin.
We fail in our love for you, forgetting your gracious acts.
We fail in our love for one another, forsaking our neighbors in need.
Forgive us, God of grace.
Let us be no longer bound by sin,
 but released, restored,
set free to worship and serve you in freedom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hear the good news: God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the gift of the Holy Spirit.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!  Thanks be to God.

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
(Please share with one another a gesture, offering peace from your seat.)
Glory be to God, creator, redeemer and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.  Amen.

Speak to us, O God, with the voice of your Holy Spirit,
that we may know the way of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

FIRST LESSON                     Psalm 123

SECOND LESSON               Matthew 25:14-30

The Word of the LORD.  Thanks be to God!

HYMN GtG 717 For the Life that You Have Given

God of the harvest, you are continually planting the seeds of your love in the world and in our lives.
As we bring our gifts to you – gifts of money and gifts of food to feed our neighbors,
may they be seeds of your grace, peace, and hope planted deeply in our community,
and may our community be nourished and strengthened by your sustaining love.   Amen.

Doxology        Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Christ, all people here below.
Praise Holy Spirit evermore,
Praise Triune God, whom we adore.  Amen.

If you would like to share your joys and concerns with the congregation, please call or email the church office.
Holy God, hear us as we pray for your blessing.  Holy God, have mercy on us.
Especially we thank you for the mission and ministry of the church;
every act of service that proclaims your love…
the people and relationships that sustain us…
 our calling to daily discipleship…
signs of new life and hope…
all who care for creation; and work for justice and peace for all people…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of thanks.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.

Merciful God, renew this weary world, heal the hurts of all your children,
and bring about your peace for all in Christ Jesus, the living Lord.
Especially we pray for
the church of Jesus Christ in every land…
the stewardship and healing of creation…
 friends and family members…
 neighbors in special need…
all who serve your mission in the world…
leaders, to lead with compassion and honor…
our nation in a time of transition…
all who grieve and lament loss of justice, freedom and life…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of intercession.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.

All this we ask of you, Lord God, through Jesus Christ our Savior,
and in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

This year, we will use an online resource published by Presbyterians Today, called “Let Us Light Candles.”  The resource can be accessed at this link:  Please contact Pastor Margery with questions.
