At Home:  Praise to the Lord:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odW596PmFg4

Eternal God, whose wisdom defies our limited insights, open our hearts and souls and minds to your love that surrounds us and seeks a dwelling place in us, that’s we may regard ourselves as your valuable children and accord the same care and concern to others as we would, at our best, lavish on ourselves. May our lives honor you and display the power of your love to the world. Amen

*HYMN GtG #69 Here I am Lord: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4ATBaI7ycY

During this time that we cannot sing, you are invited to focus on
the meaning of the lyrics, perhaps finding a new depth to favorite hymns.

The word of God comes through Moses: “You shall be holy, for I, your God, am holy.” But we have taken little delight in holiness. We scoff at pretensions of holiness, preferring the company of sinners. Do we want to change our association with today’s world?

O God, we have missed your signs and wonders because we are so busy creating our own. Where is the meaning we have missed in all our striving? Does Jesus hold the key when he says, “Love God with all your being,” and “love your neighbor as yourself”? O God, we long to make sense out of life. Help us to follow your way, and not our own.

It takes courage to question the way things are, especially when present arrangements are to our benefit. God is even now nudging us gently, caring tenderly for us amid our confusion and inner turmoil. The favor of God is upon us, entrusting us with the gospel for our own lives and for the world. Receive God’s forgiveness and blessing as good news!

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. (Please share with one another a gesture, offering peace from your seat.)

Glory be to God, creator, redeemer and Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.  Amen.

May the words of my mouth and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O God, our rock and our redeemer.  Amen.

SERMON Refreshing Our Souls

HYMN GtG #749 Come, Live in the Light: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITJYbi6b0e8

As we give ourselves and our gifts, we pray, O God, that they may reveal your love in such a way that many will respond. Awaken in us a love for you and for one another that is contagious. Remove from us all apathy, pretension, and greed that we may grow in holiness and compassion, living joyously in communion with you. Amen
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Christ, all people here below.
Praise Holy Spirit evermore,
Praise Triune God, whom we adore.  Amen.

If you would like to share your joys and concerns with the congregation, please call or email the church office.
Holy God, hear us as we pray for your blessing.
Holy God, have mercy on us.

Especially we thank you for the mission and ministry of the church;
every service that proclaims your love…
the people and relationships that sustain us…
 our calling to daily discipleship…
signs of new life and hope…
all who care for creation; and work for justice and peace for all people…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of thanks.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.

Merciful God, renew this weary world, heal the hurts of all your children,
and bring about your peace for all in Christ Jesus, the living Lord.
Especially we pray for
the church of Jesus Christ in every land…
the stewardship and healing of creation…
 friends and family members…
 neighbors in special need…
all who serve your mission in the world…
 leaders, to lead with compassion…
all who grieve and lament loss of justice, freedom and life…
(silence will be kept for your specific prayers of intercession.)
Holy God, have mercy on us.

All this we ask of you, Lord God, through Jesus Christ our Savior,
and in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

*HYMN GtG #300 We are one in Spirit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfwxKCg4vKA

Brothers and sisters, our coming together is not in vain. God is doing a new thing among us and beyond us.
God’s signs and wonders await our discovery.
God has compassion on all who seek to serve.
Surely God’s love rests upon us here.
Now we go out with courage, carrying the good news of God’s love to our neighbors.
We will be gentle with others as God is gentle with us. We offer tender care in the spirit of Jesus.
